Consultation and detailed meeting
We will discuss the various details of your project such as delivery date, number of colors, number of lines, and the final desired image.
Customer submits data
Please submit your Adobe Illustrator data (or a PDF)
To accommodate for the flexo printing process your data may need to be significantly modified. We will proceed as appropriate and check the final test print for accuracy.
Planning & Design
We will plan and create the design at our company according to the customer’s specifications.
Localization
We provide full packaging localization services through WIP Japan, a research and translation company which operates a network extending to over 100 countries around the world.
Create & adjust flexo plate data
We will adjust the data for use in flexo printing.
CTP platemaking
Proof
If necessary, we will create a proof.
CTP platemaking
The negative pattern will be digitally drawn directly onto the black film on the blank plate.
Analog platemaking
Film Output
A negative film of the design will be created.
Film & Plate exposure
The negative film is adhered to the blank plate.
Photoexposure
The blank plate is exposed to UV light shined through the film negative, curing the areas which will print the final image.
Washing
The plate is cleaned and the uncured areas are scraped away.
Drying
The cleaned plate is placed in a dryer to evaporate any remaining cleaning agents.
Post Curing
As a finishing step, the plate is exposed to a different wavelength of UV light for a second curing.
Proofreading & Inspection
We carefully evaluate the product according to our rigorous inspection system.
Delivery
After delivering the plate to a printing company, the final product will be printed and shipped to the customer.
